Dewberry announced that Emmett Willis, PE, has been promoted to assistant plumbing department manager, which falls within the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing group in the firm's Raleigh, North Carolina, office.

Willis has 15 years' experience as a mechanical engineer and has performed plumbing, medical gas, and fire protection design for a variety of facilities, including educational, military, medical, residential, and commercial buildings. His areas of expertise include domestic piping and water heating design, plumbing and fire protection specifications, design-build of plumbing and fire protection systems, and facility assessments.

As assistant department manager, Willis works on the design team for various Wake County facility condition assessments. Other recent design experience includes the Bradley University Convergence Center in Peoria, Illinois; and Duke University Medical Center's Chesterfield building in Durham. Willis earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University (2002) and is a professional engineer in North Carolina.
