Dewberry Welcomes Civil Engineering Expertise of Mike Breitbach

Transportation and water engineering expert joins firm’s Peoria, Illinois, office.

Dewberry announced that Mike Breitbach, PE, ENV SP, has been hired as an associate and the civil engineering department manager in the firm's Peoria, Illinois, office.

As the civil engineering department manager, Breitbach's responsibilities include project and budget oversight, technical guidance and leadership, and acting as the liaison on a variety of public- and private-site infrastructure projects. Since joining the firm, he has been involved with the expansion and renovation of the Pekin Insurance headquarters and the Eureka sanitary sewer extension project.

Breitbach has worked in the civil engineering industry for 25 years and specializes in various civil engineering design projects, including multidiscipline transportation projects, hydrology and hydraulics design, and civil/site design. Additionally, he has extensive experience designing potable water distribution and sanitary sewer collection systems. Previously, Breitbach worked as a civil engineer and project manager for a professional services firm in central Illinois. In this role, he managed $15 to $20 million construction projects that included the construction of three different grade separations for municipal roadways and heavily traveled railroad lines.

After earning a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Iowa State University (1992), Breitbach became a professional engineer in Illinois and a certified Envision Sustainability Professional. He is a member of the American Public Works Association.
