Dewberry's Pavel Likhonin Recognized in Consulting-Specifying Engineer's Prestigious 40 Under 40 List

Mechanical systems expert selected based on contributions to the healthcare engineering industry.

Pavel Likhonin, PE, CEM, a project manager and senior mechanical engineer with Dewberry, has been recognized by Consulting-Specifying Engineer magazine as one of the nation's top building industry professionals under the age of 40. Likhonin was selected based on his many contributions to the firm's design projects, as well as his reputation for building strong client relationships.

Likhonin is based in the Raleigh, North Carolina, office of Dewberry. After joining Dewberry seven years ago, Likhonin began taking on responsibilities in the design and management of major building systems and engineering projects. He has worked on tasks throughout the U.S., with a primary focus on healthcare and educational facilities. His experience includes energy audits with calibrated energy models, project submittals for U.S. Green Building Council LEED® certification, and the design of energy-efficient mechanical systems for new construction projects and facility additions and modernizations. Additional expertise includes energy-efficient heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) design, energy modeling, and retro-commissioning for mechanical and HVAC systems.

Likhonin earned both a bachelor's and master's degree in architectural engineering from Pennsylvania State University (2010). He is a professional engineer in North Carolina and Virginia and an active member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), where he serves on the Technical Committee 9.6 Health Care HVAC. He also regularly attends meetings with the S-170 Committee on Ventilation in Health Care. He co-founded AutoMicroFarm, an innovative automated farm system for gardeners that features open-source aquaponics.
