Dan Pleasant Appointed to Board of Directors for Virginia's Chamber of Commerce

Dewberry’s chief operating officer selected based on industry experience and active involvement in the commonwealth’s professional organizations.

The Virginia Chamber of Commerce has announced the newest members appointed to its board of directors, including Dewberry's Chief Operating Officer (COO) Dan Pleasant, PE.

Members of the board represent small and large businesses from across the commonwealth and are involved in advancing Virginia's business climate. As a board member, Pleasant participates in policy development meetings and other miscellaneous business development opportunities.

Pleasant has been with Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, for nearly 40 years and has served as COO for the last seven. He is responsible for strategic direction, business development and direct client engagement, and financial performance. As COO, he has managed the acquisitions of several companies. He previously served as the firm's southeast president, and began his career with Dewberry as the business manager for the Danville, Virginia, office.

As an active participant in community and civic organizations, Pleasant served two terms on the board of directors for the Virginia Economic Development Partnership and is a current board member for American National Bank. He serves on the advisory board for North Carolina State University's Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering and is a member of the Future of the Piedmont Foundation in Danville, Virginia.

Pleasant earned a master's degree and bachelor's degree in civil engineering from North Carolina State University and is licensed as a professional engineer in 11 states.
