Amanda Schlichting Appointed as Regional Associate Director for the American Institute of Architects

Schlichting selected based on her contributions to the architectural industry.

The board of directors for the Virginia chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) recently appointed Amanda Schlichting, associate AIA, as regional associate director (RAD) for the 2017-2018 term. In this role, Schlichting will be responsible for working with others in the association to gather information about issues facing associates among different regions, and dispersing information about national and regional activities and resources for use at the local level. Additionally, she will serve as a link between associates and the national organization.

Schlichting has worked as a graduate architect for Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, for more than two years in the firm's Danville, Virginia, office. Her experience lies in new construction and renovations/additions for numerous types of projects, including commercial, industrial, and educational facilities.

Schlichting earned a bachelor's degree in architecture from Virginia Tech and is a member of the American Institute of Architects.
