Dewberry has announced the promotion of Katherine Dewkett, PE, to senior associate and department manager of the site/civil transportation group in the firm's New York, New York, office. In her new position, Dewkett will be responsible for the management of a variety of transportation and site/civil projects.

With more than 30 years of experience, she is an expert in bridge and highway design, environmental remediation, permitting, floodplain analysis, site plans, and stormwater management. Her portfolio includes complex civil and transportation projects, such as infrastructure improvements, permitting, property-use feasibility, traffic and structural analysis, and preliminary and conceptual design plans.

She will be client manager for a contract the firm won recently with the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) for a term agreement over the next five years that focuses on highway and bridge design. She is currently serving as the Dewberry project manager for the Bruckner Expressway Viaduct Rehabilitation project for NYSDOT.

Dewkett earned a Master of Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering transportation/structures from the University of Massachusetts. She is a professional engineer in Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Society of Highway Engineers, as well as a member and past chair of the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York.
