Kim Dunn, PE, D.WRE, CFM, an associate with Dewberry, has been appointed as a board member to the American Society of Civil Engineers’ (ASCE) Energy, Environment, and Water Policy Committee.

Dunn, who is based in the firm’s Carlisle, Pennsylvania, office, will serve a one-year term on the board, and will be responsible for developing, updating, and maintaining ASCE’s energy, environment, and water policy statements. Dunn and the committee will review all effective ASCE statements and consider proposed policies by evaluating them against established ones and legislative and political implications.

Dunn has more than 23 years of experience in water resources and is a Diplomate, Water Resources Engineer (D.WRE). She has led floodplain modeling and management training for community officials, consulting engineers, planners, and surveyors. She has managed various flood studies throughout the mid-Atlantic, encompassing thousands of miles of hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, gage analyses and regression equations, geographic information system (GIS) floodplain mapping, and community outreach.

Dunn earned her master's degree in civil engineering from Villanova University and her bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Pennsylvania State University. She is a licensed professional engineer and a certified floodplain manager.
