Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has recently received the Gold Level Award through the President's Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) by volunteering more than 1,000 hours as a company in 2013.

Dewberry employees volunteered a total of 1,617 hours to their communities. Among the many volunteer efforts, engineers from the firm's New Orleans, Louisiana, office spent time repairing the state's wetlands by planting 300 cypress trees with the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana. Fairfax, Virginia, employees celebrated their twentieth year volunteering at the Luther Jackson Middle School's Expanding Visions program, located a mile from the firm's corporate headquarters. In Alabama, a dozen employees gathered from across the country to help clean the state's Three Mile Creek Watershed. The group filled more than 75 garbage bags with trash, and collected dozens of used tires, multiple bicycles, and even a jet ski.

The President's Volunteer Service Award is a volunteer awards program that encourages U.S. citizens to live a life of service. The President's Council on Service and Civic Participation was established in 2003 and immediately created the President's Volunteer Service Award program as a way to honor children, young adults, adults, families, and groups who inspire others to engage in volunteer service.
