Dewberry, a privately held and nationally ranked professional services firm, has recently hired Matthew P. Miller as an environmental scientist in the firm's Orlando, Florida, office. In his new role, Miller will be responsible for wetland and threatened/endangered species surveying and permitting, water resource coordination and permitting, and other public projects.

Miller has more than eight years of experience as an environmental scientist in both the public and private sectors. Aside from his ecological experience, he brings a diverse skill set to Dewberry, including knowledge of groundwater flow modeling, wetland assessments, water quality monitoring, and incorporating GIS technology in spatial analyses. Prior to joining Dewberry, Miller served as an environmental reviewer with the Southwest Florida Water Management District, reviewing wetland impact permits; proprietary authorizations; and recreational, agricultural, public supply, mining, commercial and industrial water use permits.

Miller earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Stetson University and a master's in environmental science and policy from the University of South Florida. He is a member of both the National and Florida Associations of Environmental Professionals, and served as the former president of the Southwest Florida Chapter. Miller is also a member of the Florida Ornithological Society and the Florida Society of Environmental Analysts.
