Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has recently promoted Brian Jecker, PE, DBIA, to senior associate in the Bloomfield, New Jersey, office. Jecker has more than 27 years of experience, with strong management and technical experience in the design, inspection and rehabilitation of bridges, culverts, and other transportation-related structures. He is currently responsible for overall project management, structural design, preparation of studies and reports, and the development of construction contract documents. He also serves as the assistant department manager of a 28-person bridge group, where he mentors young engineers and assists with marketing functions such as client development and retention. Jecker received his bachelor's degree in structural engineering from the University of Arizona.

Shahid Joarder, PE, has been promoted to associate in the New York office. Joarder has more than 30 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering projects for both public- and private-sector clients. His expertise includes lighting and power systems, fire alarm systems, telecommunication systems, intercom systems, intrusion detection alarm systems, and access control systems for subways, tunnels, bridges, highways, toll plazas, as well as commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities. Joarder holds a bachelor's and master's degree in electrical engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology and the University of Texas, El Paso, respectively. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying.
