James A. Floystrop, PE, CME, associate and water resources senior project manager in Dewberry's Parsippany, New Jersey, office, has been named president of the North Jersey Water Conference for a two-year term ending August 2013.

The objectives of the North Jersey Water Conference are to advance the knowledge of water operations along educational, historical, and scientific lines of all its various branches; acquire and disseminate trustworthy information; promote greater popular interest in the science of water operations; and bring the members into closer relations, prompting friendship and the exchange of ideas and discussions of mutual interest.

Floystrop is a recognized expert within the water resources community with more than 20 years of experience in the planning, design, construction and management of numerous water supply, stormwater and wastewater facilities. He has worked on projects involving the analysis, planning, funding, design and preparation of detailed plans and specifications, permitting and construction observation, and engineering and management for projects including water distribution/transmission mains, water system rehabilitation, water pumping stations, and water storage tanks. Floystrop is adept at working with utilities to secure funding needed to undertake capital improvement projects.
