Dewberry, a leading engineering and architecture design firm, announced today that it would establish The Dewberry Scholarship at Virginia Tech in honor of the students and professors lost on April 16, 2007. The need-based, permanently endowed scholarship will be given annually to a junior or senior civil engineering student at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia.

"I am very pleased to announce that we reached our funding goal of $100,000 through the contributions of our employees, clients and friends, and a generous match from the Dewberry owners," said Dewberry Chief Executive Officer, Ronald L. Ewing, PE, RLS.

Through its many Virginia Tech alumni of the civil and environmental engineering department (CEE) and other programs, Dewberry has developed strong ties with the university. "Many of our employees wanted to show support for the institution," said Ewing. "Creating this scholarship fund was one way for us to reach out to the Virginia Tech community."
