Anthony S. Pecci, PE, Senior Associate, Promoted to Manager of Dewberry's Construction Services Branch

Construction expert to head New York and New Jersey field operationsDewberry, a leading civil, structural, and construction engineering/inspection firm, recently promoted Anthony S. Pecci, PE, Senior Associate, to Manager of the Construction Services branch, serving the New York and New Jersey metropolitan area. Pecci has over 20 years of experience in the supervision of Construction Services for bridge and highway construction, building facilities, pump stations and sewerage systems and Intelligent Transportation System projects. He also handles the analysis and recommendations of claims, review of project schedules and performs constructability reviews for design projects throughout the Metropolitan area.
Pecci is currently overseeing many major projects, including:
- NJDOT Route 21 – TSM#6, Contract No. 1 from Raymond Blvd. to Route I-280 & Route 21 - TSM#6, Contract No. 2 from Green Street to Raymond Boulevard, Newark, NJ: Project Manager for construction support inspection services for this $60 million project involving: roadway construction and realignment, grading; paving; drainage; curb; sidewalk; extensive utility relocations; and temporary lighting and traffic signal construction. Associated construction includes: regulated waste management; soldier pile retaining walls; large-scale water main installation with cathodic protection; new PSE&G electrical and gas power distribution facilities; ITS communications; intense traffic management; roll-out/roll-in of NJ Transit bridge span over Rt. 21; and extensive urban landscaping with colored and patterned concrete, brick pavers, granite curbing, and large-scale plantings.
- NJDOT Rt. 1/Rt. 130/Georges Road Interchange Reconstruction, North Brunswick, NJ: Project Manager for construction support inspection services for this $54 million project to improve local and regional safety, as well as enabling traffic to flow freely on Routes 1 and 130. Work includes: continuous span structure construction and high performance concrete deck placement; construction of pile and drilled shaft foundations for pier construction; sheeted foundations; MSE Walls; noise barriers; embankment construction; roadway excavation; box out for full-depth roadway sections with subbase; DGABC and Superpave hot mix asphalt; drainage; curbs; sidewalls; retaining walls; extensive utility relocations; temporary lighting and electrical/traffic signal system construction; slip form bridge parapet; overhead sign structure construction; roadway and underbridge lighting; guide rail; signing and striping. Work was performed under an extensive Traffic Control Plan and staging sequence.
- NJ Turnpike Authority, Eastbound Deceleration LaneWidening, East Viaduct and Grand StreetRamp Structure Nos. N6.49 and N6.80E, Contract No. R-1412, Jersey City, NJ: Resident Engineering Services for the $27 million viaduct widening project including: partial demolition of the existing viaduct behind construction barrier while maintaining two lanes of traffic; construction of pile and drilled shaft foundations; construction of bridge piers; fabrication and erection of continuous span structural steel units within a 1-mile-long structure widening; new seismic isolation bearings and replacement of existing bearings; new composite concrete deck construction with asphalt concrete bridge surfacing; parapet with bridge lighting and electrical work; T-Wall and MSE retaining walls; overhead sign; structure construction; utility relocations; handling and disposal of contaminated soils; miscellaneous structural repairs; deck spall repairs; substructure spall repairs; approach roadway reconstruction widening; and pavement striping and signing.
- NYS Thruway Replacement of Six Bridges (TANY 00-28B): Resident Engineering Services for reconstruction and replacement of two pedestrian structures and four bridges over the NYS Thruway mainline roadway. Work includes: demolition of superstructures and full or partial demolition of substructures. Extensive maintenance and protection of traffic (MPT) and night work; reconstruction of structures; bridge and roadway drainage; lighting and utility crossings along superstructures. Associated construction also included: hot mix asphalt paving; roadway reconstruction; bridge approach transition slabs; sign structure construction, and traffic signal systems at each bridge.
A registered professional engineer, Pecci holds a BS degree in geoscience from Montclair State University, an MS in geophysics from the University of Connecticut, and an MS in geotechnical engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
