Dr. Andy Ko Appointed to AREMA Technical Committee 8, Concrete Structures and Foundations

New York, NY—August 21, 2009
Dewberry, a nationally recognized infrastructure engineering firm, has announced that Andy Ko, PhD, PE, has been selected to serve on the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association’s (AREMA) Technical Committee 8, Concrete Structures and Foundations.
AREMA’s Technical Committee 8 contributes to the development and advancement of both technical and practical knowledge and recommended practices pertaining to the design, construction and maintenance of railway infrastructure. In addition to research, AREMA provides technical education for railway engineers.
Located in Dewberry’s New York City office, Dr. Ko is the director of bridge structures and has over 24 years of experience in management, structural analysis, and design of highway and transit structures. His experience includes all types of bridge design and construction, including steel, concrete, timber, prestressed concrete and post tensioning segmental concrete bridges. Dr. Ko’s field of expertise includes seismic analysis, design and assessment of complex structures, and finite element analysis. He is also a member of the Bridge Committee and Seismic Sub-Committee in the Precast/Prestressed Concrete
Institute (PCI).
