Kevin Gallen, PE, LEED AP, Elected President of The New York Chapter of The American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers

New York, NY—June 3, 2009
Dewberry project manager to serve the organization for one year
Dewberry, a nationally recognized architectural and building engineering firm, recently announced Kevin Gallen’s election to president of the New York chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) beginning July 1, 2009.
Located in Dewberry’s New York City office, Gallen has been a member of ASHRAE since 2001 and served on the board of the New York chapter since 2003. He has held positions of president-elect, chapter secretary, chair of the website committee, and newsletter editor. Since joining the organization, Gallen has hosted ASHRAE delegates from Japan, which included a tour of New York City green buildings; organized the award-wining redesign of the chapter website; and volunteered as a session monitor for the 2008 Winter Meeting in New York City.
As President, Gallen’s goal is to increase awareness about ASHRAE and the New York chapter. He looks forward to increasing membership and encouraging more students and young engineers to join and become more active members.
