Dewberry has recently joined the Greater Washington Board of Trade Emergency Preparedness Committee. The committee is dedicated to advancing emergency preparedness and business continuity for its members and the greater Washington, D.C., area.

From the November issue of Climate Change Business Journal, Dewberry is leveraging its strengths in the climate change adaptation realm, providing services that range from analyzing likely impacts to planning strategies for protecting people, resources and structures.

A consulting team led by PSA-Dewberry has been selected by Calaveras County, California, to design a new 240-bed jail to replace an aging and chronically overcrowded facility built in 1963.

During its November 2009 National Conference, the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) recognized the Rappahannock Regional Jail Expansion and Renovation with a Design-Build Merit Award for public sector buildings over $25 million. The design-build team of Balfour Beatty Construction and PSA-Dewberry designed and constructed the 480-bed facility expansion under the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Public-Private Education Facilities and Infrastructure Act (PPEA) of 2002.

The County of Passaic and the Borough of Hawthorne have announced today that environmental studies including a Preliminary Assessment and Site Investigation will begin on Tuesday, August 11, 10 AM on the property known as “the Pyrolac site” located at 55 Schoon Avenue, Hawthorne.  The environmental studies will be undertaken by Dewberry-Goodkind Inc.

The $80-million facility will accommodate youths who have been criminally charged as adults, and will enable the state to increase its educational, counseling, and healthcare services for youth offenders.

Two PSA-Dewberry projects were selected to be published in the American Institute of Architects Academy of Architecture for Justice publication, Justice Facilities Review. This annual publication showcases the year’s outstanding state-of-the-art justice facility designs.
