Dewberry’s GeoFIRM system combines more than 30 years of FEMA program experience with cutting edge information technology. Project members have immediate, on-screen access to all project data (digital imagery, scanned firms, framework data, LiDAR, engineering data, etc.) located in an enterprise-class geodatabase (spatial database). GeoFIRM relies on the most recent version of ArcGIS/SDE spatial gateway to support simultaneous editing for multiple users. Engineering and mapping teams are free from the former inconveniences of geographic boundaries. Project partners collaborate via the Internet directly on geodatabase-driven projects.
State-of-the-Art ArcGIS
Dewberry has successfully implemented the GeoFIRM production system, an enterprise map production environment which supports FEMA engineering and DFIRM mapping projects. Multiple users, from any location, are able to access a project geodatabase simultaneously using GeoFIRM. Dewberry’s new GeoFIRM tools also enable Engineering and GIS staff to automatically create DFIRM databases with the push of a single button. Dewberry has been helping FEMA meet Flood Insurance engineering and mapping goals since their inception. GeoFIRM places Dewberry in a unique position to integrate industry-leading technologies with the goals of Map Modernization, RiskMAP, and beyond.
Effective Client Support
Simply put – Dewberry meets client needs more effectively with GeoFIRM. Engineering teams have real-time access to project data and the result is efficient collaboration. GeoFIRM enables Dewberry and project partners to quickly perform work, share data, deliver digital results, store data in non-proprietary format, and more easily respond to FEMA program changes. GeoFIRM has helped FEMA protect lives and property by producing over 50,000 DFIRM panels in the past several years.
