Company Overview TEXT

PSA-Dewberry is a national architectural and engineering practice that is the result of two exceptional firms joining forces in 2004, each with a half-century of commitment to building design and engineering excellence. PSA’s first office was opened in 1954 by Forest A. Phillips and Eugene C. Swager over a drug store in Peoria, IL. Barely two years later, in 1956, Sidney O. Dewberry and partners formed a six-person engineering and surveying firm in Arlington, VA. As each firm grew and flourished, they often joined together to pursue projects, particularly in the municipal and state government sectors.

The newly formed PSA-Dewberry Inc. was created when Dewberry acquired the 160-person, Illinois-based PSA, and merged it with Dewberry’s architecture and building engineering staff located in Tulsa, OK, Arlington, VA, Fairfax, VA, Baltimore, MD, and Boston, MA. In addition to three offices in Illinois, PSA also brought offices in Dallas, TX and McLean, VA; the latter is now merged with the Fairfax, VA, operations. PSA-Dewberry focuses on four main areas:  architecture, interiors, engineering and program management. In 2009 Burnidge Cassell Associates (BCA) became a Dewberry company. Operating from Elgin, Illinois, under the name PSA-Dewberry/BCA, as part of PSA-Dewberry in Dewberry’s architectural division, the office's practice areas closely align with the markets PSA-Dewberry already serves.

PSA-Dewberry’s award-winning projects are functional, aesthetically pleasing and cost efficient.  Markets all over the United States are served, including education, corrections, courts, health & science, wellness/fitness, libraries, public safety, religious, commercial/industrial, interiors, and technology. PSA-Dewberry’s comprehensive services encompass:
