Hamilton County Justice Center
Cincinnati, Ohio

We provided Security Electronics Design and Construction Documents to revovate two control rooms and all electronic security control systems in this 1240-bed facility consisting of two five-story towers, each containing a central control room and ten local control rooms. The end result is an electronic security control system that integrates door control and monitoring, access control, CCTV surveillance and facility intercommunication as a seamless system that allows for very flexible control of staffing. Included in the design was a complete renovation of control room casework and equipment.

Technology/Security/911 Communications Design
Gilbert Public Safety Building
Gilbert, Arizona

Security, surveillance and court screening were designed for this combination police, fire and municipal courts facility. This included access control, intrusion detection, wireless personal alarm, CCTV surveillance with digital recording and a state-of-the-art Court Entrance Security Screening Station integrated into a Programmable Logic Controller-based Electronic Security Control System, complete with Touch Screen Graphical User Interface Stations.

The 911 Communications Center layout and implementation encompassed identifying specific needs of three distinctly different functionalities:  Call Takers, Dispatchers and Dispatch Supervisors. Each group had different space requirements to accommodate the equipment to perform their particular job function. The layout developed made viewing of the monitors accessible, in addition to creating a functional work environment for corresponding between disciplines. Two Dispatch Training Stations were also included.

Technology/Security Design
Jack Evans Police Headquarters
Dallas, Texas
For this new police headquarters, we established four levels of security access for public visitors, police, administrative areas, and prisoner holding by employing architectural screens, barriers, partitions to control access and pedestrian traffic flow. The PLC based touch screen security control system integrated access control, intrusion detection, interview recording, duress annunciation and closed circuit television surveillance. Additional enhancements included ANSI/EIA/TIA 568-B Structured Cabling System and extensive audio/visual and multimedia display systems in several conference rooms.

Security design considerations for a new Task Force Command Center included the security of the space, the building, and infrastructure to send/receive signals for deployment of remote security measures. Entry to the Command Center is controlled by its isolated embedded location within the building, which is behind the defined security perimeter. Containment is further enhanced by electronic access control into the space. Infrastructure has been designed to provide remote security functions if required by the emergency incident. Covert or overt audio, video or detection sensors can be remotely deployed and interactive signal transmission can be configured to be directly routed to the Command Center.
