Dewberry’s David Mahoney, PE, Promoted to Executive Vice President

David Mahoney, PE, based in Dewberry’s Fairfax, Virginia, office, has been promoted to executive vice president. Mahoney has extensive experience in transportation engineering, with a broad range of knowledge in the planning and design of major transportation improvement projects throughout the Metropolitan Washington area.

Mahoney is responsible for the successful delivery of more than $2 billion in highway projects, such as the Route 28 improvements project built using Virginia’s Public-Private Transportation Act; the Dulles Greenway in Northern Virginia; and Contract C of the Intercounty Connector in Maryland.

At Dewberry, he is responsible for the infrastructure practice in the Mid-Atlantic region including the Highway, Structural, and Hydraulic Design groups. He also consults with decision makers on accelerated project delivery best practices and has been influential in promoting design-build across the region.

Mahoney is a licensed professional engineer in Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia. He participates in several industry organizations including the Design-Build Institute of America and the American Road & Transportation Builders Association. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from South Dakota State University.
